The #01625 Gallery in Macclesfield

Several times a year, The Macclesfield Town Council organizes exhibitions in Phone Boxes, providing local artists and creators with a unique platform to showcase their work. These exhibitions not only highlight the city's vibrant cultural scene, but only engage residents with diverse forms of contemporary art, while preserving the historical significance of these iconic red booths.

In first Phone Box, we express gratitude from the Ukrainian community for the hospitality and kindness of the British people during these challenging times. Through textiles and floristry, we aim to symbolize the support and solidarity that have been so generously extended.

In the second Phone Box, we pay tribute to Edith Buxton, a remarkable silk designer whose legacy is deeply intertwined with the history of Macclesfield. Through our artistic interpretation, we celebrate her influence and contribution to the world of textile design, bringing her story to life in a modern and meaningful way.
